Work D&B Does Not Take
Most shops make you find this out by turning up. This list is on his own site and it is on this one, because being told no on the phone is worth more than being told no in your driveway.
- Windshield and glass repair
- Body work
- Tires and tire balancing
- Wheel alignments
- Transmission work
- Engine swaps
- PCM programming
That list is his, word for word, off his own site. A mobile mechanic who tells you no before you book is worth more than one who turns up, pokes around and then tells you to find a shop.
Why This List Exists
A mobile mechanic works out of a van. Some jobs need a lift, a press, a tire machine, an alignment rack or a spray booth, and no amount of goodwill puts those in a driveway.
Pretending otherwise is how customers end up paying for a visit that ends with a recommendation to go somewhere else. So the boundary is published instead.
What to Do Instead
If what you need is on this list, say so when you call and you will get pointed in a sensible direction rather than booked.
If you are not sure whether your problem is on the list, describe the symptom rather than guessing at the repair. A noise turning a corner might be suspension, which D&B does, and it might be something else. That is what the phone call is for.
